Yes – the core app is free forever. That includes the looper, the synthetic noise generator, and one environmental sound, with no time limit and no account.
Studio (an optional upgrade) unlocks the full audio suite: all 9 field recordings, Nocturne, the complete effects rack, pitch and speed, reverse playback, export, audio import, the sleep timer, and expanded loop storage. It's available monthly, annually, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
-
Loop Mode is the tape-deck looper: record any sound and loop it seamlessly. Noise Mode is a library of original sounds – synthetic colors, field recordings, and Nocturne – that you can layer and mix.
You switch between them with the Mode Select toggle at the top of the deck.between the wheels.

No. Somnideck has no accounts, no cloud, and no servers – nothing you record is ever sent to us or anyone else. Your recordings live on your device. If you choose to export a ringtone or audio file, that's you sending your own copy out, on purpose – the app never does it automatically.
-
Record or import a sound, then use the handles on either side of the waveform display to trim your loop. The crossfade (XFADE) control blends the end of the loop back into its beginning so there's no audible seam. A little crossfade goes a long way for most sounds.
-
Yes, with Studio. You can import audio files and treat them exactly like audio you’ve recorded directly in the app: trim it, change speed and pitch, loop it, reverse it, add effects, export it.
-
Tap the share button and choose ‘Ringtone’. You can export your loop raw or with your effects baked in, toggle a seamless loop, name it, and set it as a ringtone, text tone, or alarm sound.
Press the green button in the export menu, then select “Use as Ringtone” in the iOS share sheet when it appears.
-
Export is a feature included in Studio. Tap the export menu button, and select ‘File’ or ‘Loop’ from the fan menu.
Exporting using the ‘Loop’ option exports a seamless loop, as either a WAV or M4A, with the crossfade baked straight into the audio so the loop point is invisible the moment it lands in your DAW. Exporting using the ‘File’ option is the same as ‘Loop’, but does not bake the crossfade in. It’s a different style, and a different sound. Both are useful!
-
It reduces unwanted background noise – fans, traffic, room hum – from your recordings. Somnideck’s denoise feature runs entirely on your device; your audio isn't sent anywhere to be processed.
